Pritzker Podcast

About a week ago, I (Ben) was in San Antonio to do a joint workshop on using social media in medical education along with some colleagues. Among them was Dr. Vinny Arora, a hospitalist and an Associate Director of the Internal Medicine Residency Program here at the University of Chicago, the Assistant Dean for Scholarship & Discovery at the Pritzker School of Medicine, and an influential blogger (FutureDocs) and Twitter user (@FutureDocs).

This presentation is a brief introduction to blogs, wikis, Twitter, and podcasting in medical education, as well as current examples how they’re being used.

We also recorded and podcasted the presentation portion as well, so go check out the audio corresponding to these slides. Following the presentation, we broke into small groups to discuss each of these media in more detail. My podcasting group even recorded a short snippet of themselves!

We were invited by the Department of Medicine here to give a talk about the Pritzker Podcast at its Research in Progress conference today. We thought it might be nice to make the slides from our talk available to give some idea of what podcasting in medical education is all about and how it can be applied to other aspects of medical education other than undergraduate medical admissions.
